A quantity can be classified as a base quantity and derived quantity.


                                  BASED QUANTITIES

These are fundamental quantities used to define or obtain other quantities.







                                   DERIVED QUANTITIES
They are the combination of two or more based quantities.

                                    


MASS: It refers to the quantity of matter in an object.



LENTH: This is the distance between two points.



TIME: It is the duration or period of a process.



TEMPERATURE: It is the degree of hotness or coldness of a body or substance.


AREA: Area is the space covered by a flat or plane surface.


VOLUME: This refers to the amount of space occupied by matter

MENISCUS: It is the curved upper surface of a liquid.
